i think that a baby deer's mother and sibling got hit by a car (because i saw them in the road) and because it is still a fawn, i want to know how i would be able to approach it and feed and pet it. it eats grass all the time in my yard and i can get about 10 feet from it, but then it runs away. any advice would be appreciated

  1. i have deers on the island where my Grand parents live i slide an apple toward them and eventually theyll take a shining to you

and get down on your knees and hold food out to her youll seem like less of a threat

  2. You don't approach it.If it's eating grass, then it must be doing OK.If you're worried about it,call your local Division of Wildlife. If they think the fawn is in danger, they will catch it and take care of it until it's big enough to be released.

  3. It is a wild animal, don't pet it, leave it alone.  Like said above, contact the Division of Wildlife if you're worried about it.

Don't listen to the "animal lovers".  If you feed and pet it, it will become dependent on humans and will not be able to live on its own.
