well you take the 163 to Riverside and Hollywood Way

and during rush hours(Mon-Friday)

LADOT has a direct bus to Pasadena

Line 549

it could take to Los Robles and Colorado

Old town Pasadena is around this location

otherwise you could take 163 bus into Hollywood (transfer to the either line 780 or 180 to Pasadena

(this way you don't have to all the way downtown LA

unless you wanted to use rail only

then you  could take the 163 bus to Hollywood/Vine station

Red Line to Uniion station and then gold line to Pasadena

(get off at Memorial park)
