You need 250 points to get to level 2 on Yahoo! Answers. You get 1 point for signing in everyday, I think 2 points every time you answer a question, and 10 points for your answer being picked as a best answer.

answer a question = 2 points

your answer is chosen as best answer = 10 points

ask a question = -5 points

choose a best answer for your question = 3 points
