You have a couple of choices.

Hastings to Clapham Junction to Yeovil Junction

Hastings to Brighton to Southampton Central to Salisbury to Yeovil Junction (Could be lucky and pick up a direct service to Salisbury from Brighton area)

Hastings to Tonbridge to Redhill to Reading to Yeovil Junction

Each will take between 4 and 6 hours depending on conncetions, time of travel and day.  Cost varies on route also and if you book in advance.

Best thing to do go into Hastings or Warrior Square station and talk to the ticket clerk there who will advise you on best journey and cost.
