  1. while some ppl set up a dual boot system and have both, u'd be advised to keep windows vista as ur computer comes with hardware/drivers that are specific to vista and the rollback to xp could cause critical components to quit working. that is what i was told on my sony that came with vista.

  2. Its no longer on sale, and if it was a valable on your model Dell are currnetly only comapny who will offer sticking an old OS on a brand new sytme, but its only certian sytmes cos of the way the loophole works, it needs to be for business use.

    Why do you NEED XP?

its liek saying, i bought a car, but i want my engine to be replaced by 2 horses. XP is old, it doesnt proeprly support modenr technology  liek Multicore processors, DX10, modern Wi-Fi standards etc. so you would be crippling your new sytmes. also on lapotps drivers need to be specifically made for most, so if it was going to have Vista installed the drivers will be in Vista, whihc menas your drivers wont work if you install XP.

also youd need to go back ot Vista next year when XP support is dropped, so no more security updates, patches bug fixes etc, your laptop will be a haven for Virus's.

If you have issues with Vista use Linux, its supported indefently as its commuinity based, not run by a company, and supports about 99% of hardware.
