How do i getthe best quality of my tv?

i have a 42 inch philips lcd tv. bu when i am watching football it luks blury when it moves. for example when ders a goal kick and you see the crown den u see it go blurry. do i have to put the sharpness to its highest? some one help me please?

  1. There are two possible reasons for poor resolution on motion.

    1)  The station is not using the full bandwidth available and is therefore over-compressing the signal.  This is very common, and there is nothing you can do about it except complain to the broadcaster.

    2)  Your LCD has a slow response time, "smearing" the moving objects.

    How to tell the difference:

    If it is 1) The moving object "breaks up" into little blocks

    If it is 2) The moving object looks smooth, but is blurry and leaves trails.

    If 2) is the case, then you have to get a new 120 Hz LCD TV to get rid of the problem.


  2. nothing you can do about it. it is there for two reasons....1. phillips dont have the processing power or filtering of a better brand. 2. cable and satellite broadcasts are so highly compressed that a blurry, sometimes pixelated picture is the end result. you know its not the tv since you can hook a blu-ray up and it plays fine

  3. Make sure that you are using a thick s***w-on coaxial cable. Using a push-on, or a thin s***w-on coaxial cable, may ruin the picture.
