How do i give money to charities????

okay so my dad own a restaurant, and i want to put out a jar so people can put money in it and i want to give it to charities or a helpful cause..so does anyone know how i can give the money to charities?? thanks for helping.

What a great idea!

First, find a cause. Pick something that means a lot to you, so that if someone asks you about it, you can speak from your heart.

In addition to the text on your sign, it helps to have visual aids, such as a photo of a puppy or kitten if the charity is a shelter, a child if it's a local medical need - in fact, local stories are a good start. Read the paper or watch the news and see if there has been a person or family whose house burned down, or something like that where the community is needed to pitch in.  When you read or hear a story, call the paper or tv station and speak to the person who wrote or aired the story. Ask them where or how you can donate.

p.s. I know you're not doing it for publicity, but when you present your jar of money to the charity or family of your choice, be sure to have someone take pictures and submit it to the newspaper - a little free publicity can be good for business. Take it where you can.

First, select the mission you would like support.

Second, notify the nonprofit organization that you are doing this.  Sometimes a good idea can go wrong if they should have a strict fundraising policy or are goverened by regulations that would affect your fundraising strategy.  Talk to their development person and if you get the all clear, they will probably provide you with promotional materials with their logo on it to make your jar look more authentic.  More people will donate if they know it is legitimate.

Find the main corporate office information and  most likely it will be online and theres usually a number that you can call or write to them by email and call them to inform them that you want to donate to their office and set up the information with them. They will be happy to help you.  There are sooooo many charities and places that are desprately in need of chairty. I can think of like 100 right now.  Im glad there are generous people such as your self who arent just thinking of themselves. What a wonderful idea :) Keep donating to various charities you are doing the right thing by helping others in need.
