How do i go about applying for and getting Jobs in canada when i live in england?

First of all, apply for a work permit for longer then you want it for.  My husband came to Canada with a 3 month permit and he was told he could renew here.  The monster site is great, where do you want to work, what is your area of expertise?  and how long do you plan on coming to Canada.  I am Canadian married to a Brit so I have some knowledge about this
