  1. You'll need A*-B in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths and English at GCSE, different unis ask for different grades but this seems to be about average.

You'll need to do A-levels and you'll need to get an AAB with an A in Chemistry and the other A and B in two other sciences (either Biology, Physics or Maths) and at least a B in a fourth subject (normally the other science) to AS.

Work experience is a good idea, most of the unis demand it and wont consider you without it, work at a vets would be the best, but it can be very difficult to get, kennels and catteries are also good, so are farms and riding stables, abattoirs are also recommended.

There are only 7 universities in the UK that do a veterinary course, and they are all pretty equal in terms of how good they are, its down to which you prefer when you look at them as to which you apply to and then whoever offers you a place.

    The unis are:

    *Royal Veterinary College London

    *Cambridge

    *Bristol

    *Liverpool

    *Nottingham

    *Glasgow

    *Edinburgh
