You can't become king of a country that already has a king, unless you take over and can convince the people that you would make a better king (but first you have to execute the previous king and do all sorts of heinous things, and it hasn't worked well in a long time.  Are you really prepared to do all that?

And your plan re William wouldn't work, even if he WERE g*y, which I'm pretty sure he isn't, all evidence such as it is... because the spouse of the king/queen in England is the consort, not the royal, and you wouldn't even become a "Royal Highness" or "Royal Majesty", unless you were born to a royal family, you would just be "Highness" or "Majesty".
