However, please note that we are currently working through roughly 980,000 applications. Since Canada only accepts about 250,000 new immigrants per year, you can see that it is already taking about 4-5 years to complete the process.

That does not mean you shouldn't apply but it does mean that you should not expect it to be a quick process.
