  1. if you're taking a work placement year through your university, can't they help you to arrange this?

first thing is you need a working holiday visa.  you can check out how to get one on the new zealand immigration department website,

    http://www.immigration.govt.nz/

this visa is valid for one year only.

once you're there, contact the inland revenue department to obtain an IRD number.  You can download the form from the website http://www.ird.govt.nz  but you need to actually present it in new zealand (i used to work there, it's pretty simple).

as for getting a temporary job, there are a lot of employment agencies and stuff online - here are a few

    http://www.seek.co.nz

    http://www.employment.co.nz

http://www.job.co.nz (based in the UK so can give you other info about what you need to do)

    http://www.seasonaljobs.co.nz

hope this helps, have fun :)

  2. Check out the link below.

  3. BUNAC is quite good - you do have to pay for their service though - think it's about £300. But for that they arrange stuff for you, help with visas and jobs, etc...My friend has just gone to Canada through them and they seem pretty helpful - it's just weighing up whether you can spare the cash, as it is a lot.

Good luck, and go for it - have the best time seeing the world!

  4. I suggest you look on the web in N.Z sites for work before you leave the countrie as when you get there you might find it a bit hard to get a job.

  5. I like new zealand. There are KiwiBirds There.    O and there is that movie called the worlds Fastest indian. That was a great movie. Now What was the question

  6. Most get work there whilst on a working holiday vias. helps if you have skills they are looking for ie carpentry, electrician, nurse, computer engineer etc...

or you get boring call centre, bar or waiter work.

Or Girlie jobs ie glamour modelling and pole dancing... they pay best
