  1. Start going to the races and watch.  That's how I learned WAY BACK in the day. Its very very expensive compared to when I was racing. They do have camps for riding now. Good Luck It was the best time of my life I miss it.

  2. Like the other guys said, go to the track. The riders are usually very talkative and helpful. Watch how things go, ask questions in the pits between motos, find out which bike you want, then go find a place to ride. When you can pull wheelies and ride over log piles and really nail turns with you feet on the pegs, get used to that "flattrack" feeling of sliding some in the turns you're almost ready. Try to find a place you can jump a little. When you go racing, be careful. Injuries will only set you back. The right way to do it is not balls out, it's skillful riding with minimum chance of injury. In otherword don't ride over your head. It's hard when the gate drops but you have to stay in control. Look into hare scrambles, you get a ton more seat time for your money and really get your endurance up. Go to ama-cycle.org. There's a ton of useful info there.

  3. Just start riding first. Dont even think about taken up racing yet.

Go to your local dealer, they have details of local clubs you can start learning with.

Dont forget, you must walk before you can run.
