Question:

How do i go about planning?

i am a first year teacher recently graduated for university. I am going to be teaching Kindergarten and Grade 1 in the fall for half a year. does anybody have any tips for me on where to start my planning and a quick way to assess students or keep records on marks? any tips would be helpful. THANKS :)

  2. I would suggest you network with experienced teachers. Teacher conferences are a good start. Also, read on-line education journals that mention best practice methods of instruction for your grade level. Check websites of schools to see what teachers of similar grades do for their classes. I know our school has a great website where parents are involved with the education of their students by showing the student work, providing newsletters that clearly state expectations for the coming week(s) and more. Communication with parents at the levels you are teaching is very important so make sure you write clear, informative and complete newsletters that parents are sure to receive.
