  1. a cbt cost about £100 cant really fail a cbt its a basic getting to show you how a bike works session then your ok to ride a bike 125cc max for two years before a retest if you want to progress in this time a practical test will need to taken £50 then you go for your bike test £50 take it on a 125cc and restricted to 33bhp for 2 yrs or on a 500cc up for access to any size bike

  2. You need to do compulsory basic training (CBT) first - ask at your local bike shop - takes a day & will cost about £100.

    Full details here;

    http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Lea...

  3. You need to check first that you have provisional entitlement on your licence.  If you are not sure how to do this or what it all means then find your local motorcycle training centre and ask them.

    A CBT (costs about £100) lasts for two years and will allow you to ride a upto a 125cc with 'L' plates at all times and you will not be allowed on motorways nor to carry a pillion.

    As you are over 21 once you have taken the CBT you can do a Direct Access Course (about £400) this will allow you once you have passed to ride any bike.

    To do this you will need to pass the theory test (about £30)  and then do the bike test (about £60)

    The bike test is changing in October - see link below.

  4. CBT will limit you to a 125cc and with L PLates on.

    DAS costs approx £400 for 3 days training.... theory test and bike test at the end of the training...be quick though. Tests get tougher in October so get in before then as the prices will most likely go up.
