My dad has blocked a blog site. When i try to open 192.168.1.2, i get the router control page, but when i click on the administration tab, i get this thing that asks me for a password and a user name. How can i hack the pass and the user. Don't tell me to talk w/ my dad. Don't tell me to reset cause then he'll know. btw, im on a wireless network and my computer doesn't have the router driver on it. I cannot change the pass and user because then my dad will know. I might have an idea of the pass, but i don't know the user. HELP and don't say ethical things PLZ cause i am a straight A student and in all Honors and AP classes so, i don't need ant bull that i should talk to my dad and see if he's unhappy w/ my grades.

  1. very simple...

you dont have to hack the router.

when your dad is not home simply connect directly to the modem. then reset the modem (turn power off).

by the way you don't need router software unless you have a apple router.

    2nd way.

buy a cheap wifi router ($40) and connect it between the modem and your dad's router. hide your wifi router with a long ethernet cable somewhere. reset the modem. (make the "lan ip address" of your router 10.0.0.1).

  2. The default password on most routers is "admin" with a blank username.  Failing that the only way to change the password is to reset it.  Usually done with a combination of holding the reset button and power cycling.  Look up the model number of your router for exact instructions.  There is no way to recover what the password is.  This would defeat the purpose of having a password.

If you want to get to the blog site without reseting the password use a proxy pass like, www.hidemyass.com to circumvent the ip block.

  3. As adam said, hacking a routers password is pretty much impossible without resetting it. There are a bunch of proxies out there that will allow you to get past the filter, but if your dad is good enough to block websites, chances are that he has blocked proxies too. The way to get around that is to find a proxy with a ssh connection. These proxies will show up as https://<insert site here> as opposed to http://<site name here>. The only example i can think of at the moment is https://proxify.com/ but a quick google search of "inurl:https:// web based proxy" will likely yield results.
