How do i handle money for school fundraisers?

our head treasurer has been embezzeling money from our school funds. we are trying to figure out how others schools handle their money from their fundraisers

I was the ASB Secretary for my school and we did the following:

After every fundraiser both the ASB Treasurer and the Advisor would count the money and then it would be deposited into our accounf in the Student store.

If it was not possible then the advisor would keep the money box until it could be counted.

We usually keep a stash of money in the money box but it was usually hidden and the exact money was known.
