ok so here's the thing recently i have noticed that my grandma is down and felling low all the more often. my gran and i have always been very close i visit her every day, do her shopping for her and she practically brought me up, recently she admitted to me that she was suffering from depression (and she had done before too) she told me that she had gone to the doctors and told him bout it, but she was scared about telling me.

she said that she was having panic attacks, crying for nothing and worrying about every thing, she even admitted that she wished she ad the courage to end it all. but the thing is she didn't know why coz she isn't in debt, has plenty of money, has lots of family and friend that visit her, and doesn't really have any thing to worry bout.

i knew she had been depressed befor but we got threw it but i was alot younger and not really sure wat helped her out of it.

i just want to know how to help her out and make sure she dont do any thing daft.

i want her to get back to her happy go lucky self.

she is my world!

  1. You sound as if you are doing all the right things, visiting her every day and looking out for her...  Arrange simple trips out (we managed to get my Gran to India!) and opportunity's to socialise and reminisce with others of her own age.  Most importantly make sure she visits the doctor again and you need to go along as well.

After my grandad died my gran was lost.  Anti-depressants did not 'fix' her but they made things so much more bearable for her...

Precious times you sharing with your gran right now.  My gran too was the most wonderful person I have ever met and I miss her so much now she is gone...
