  1. If she's friendly and trusts you enough there shouldn't be a problem picking her up.

If you can't do the you should get a cup and put some food inside, and scoop her up like that. Try do it gently and don't scare, in order for her to gain you're trust.

  2. the best way to get your gerbil on your hand is to place a sunflower seed on the palm of your hand. then move it farther and farther up so that yur gerbil is standing on your hand to get the seed. pick her up slowly, use your other hand to make sure she doesnt fall off. put her on your lap and see if she plays

  3. put on a thick glove or wrap your hand in a towle and gently bring you hand into the cage and give her a cracker or sumthin dont let her take it just hold it tight and let her eat it out of your hand do this a few times and eventualy try to pet her then move on to try to pick her up (Still using the towel to protect your hand if she gives a nerves bite)if she runs or starts screaming then DONT CHASE HER AROUND THE CAGE it will completely ruin any trust.be patient if she allows you to pick her up then keep using the towel until u have a decent bond with no worry of biting and give her cookies and treats every time u touch her or try to pick her up for a while into the process it really helps  you can also by a smal hamster ball they love those and its good exersise

  4. She has to trust you first. Once you've gained her trust, you can start holding her. Scoop her up into the palm of your hand. Gently wrap your fingers around her body if you're afraid of her running away. Don't squeeze too hard, and don't ever grab her by her tail. It can break or deglove (skin comes off the tail). If you're having trouble getting her out of her cage, try scooting her into a corner and scooping her up there. If it's too hard, you can use a toilet paper tube or a cup and scoop her up into that. Then, "pour" her into your hand.

When I pick up my gerbils, I usually wait until they're on their hind legs. Then, I put my hand under their belly while they're standing up, and they usually hop right on.

It takes a while for you to get used to holding them, and it takes a while for them to get used to being held. Just be patient and work with her every day to earn her trust.

  5. if you have had your gerbil for a while, the gerbil should be used to your smell.

gently pick the gerbil up and cup the gerbil. and don't hold it from a high height incase you drop it. Never pick a gerbil up by the tail or touch its tail as the skin could strip off.

    hope this helps :)
