you will get much better sound quality if you just buy a new head unit, you can find some reasonably priced alpine head units, or even used ones on ebay.

go to an audio shop and buy a thing called a line converter. it attaches between the rear deck speakers in the g6 to the converter by using the signal that the radio puts out ie left rear +  -  right rear +  - then just hook your rca jacks to the converter and the other end to your amp. run the power remote and ground wire and you will be all set. hope this helps.
