How do i hook up a second wireless router?

i dont want two routers in the same place, and i only have one DSL modem, is there a way i could hook up the second router without buying anything, i have a cable modem, but i quit my cable high-speed internet, will it work?

i have a router in the basement, but i am getting a free replacement N router in a week, so i want to hook it up upstairs

You can use the second router, but it just won't provide internet access unless you plug it in somewhere that has an internet connection (ethernet or USB).

You could always buy a range expander.
