dumb question....get the bar and a ball that matches your trailer.

Check with a hitch place or an auto parts store. They make an extension that plugs into the receiver on your van which to mount a ball hitch on. The ball hitch mates up to your trailer's tongue. The extensions come in straight and drop versions. Get one which will let the trailer sit level when connected to your van.
