How do i hook up an amp to my chevy stock stereo?

  1. If it is a stock radio then i can gaurantee that it does not have a set of RCA's. So in that case you will need a Line Output Converter.  It is a piece that connects to your factory speaker wires and will give you a set of RCA's. it can be bought at Best Buy or Circuit City for about $25


  2. do you have rca output.

    if so nice and simple.

    rca from heaunit to amp wire all power and speaer to amp away you go.

    if not

    you need an amp with high level input (hope you have a big wallet)

    the high level comes from the speaker closes to the amp (straight from the + and - on the back) to the amps input (normally a plug with corasponding wires)

    then wire the poower and away you go.

    it is often cheaper to buy a new aftermarket headunit and amp for the same cost as a amp with high level input.

    i have a £30 headunit and that runs my soundsytem near to competition level.
