How do i hook up extra speakers with my tv and xbox?

i have an xbox with a video/audio connections in the front, and and x box connected to that. there are also a video/ audio connection on the back of the tv i was trying to hook a receiver up to to run more speakers. but that isnt working. in fact the xbox wont run connected to the back of thge tv even though it appears to be the same inputs as the front of the tv where its hooked up. can i seperately connect a receiver to the tv to get more speakers running?

  1. appears that your TV either doesn't have a RCA output or it's broken.

    if you are just looking to play xbox with extra speakers, you can connect the audio part (red & white)from xbox to the receiver, and connect the video part (yellow) directly to TV.


  2. Well your TV can OUTPUT your Xbox audio if ON THE BACK of your TV set it has a pair of AUDIO OUTPUTS.....

    Not Inputs....

    If it doesn't have outputs, then you are forced to connect your XBox directly IN to your amplifier and use the speaker A and B for 4 speakers......no more than that or you blow the amp.

    Unless, of course you have an OPTICAL or DIGITAL Coax output on your X BOX......

    Then you can drive a Dolby Surround speaker amp....
