ive taken 5 different kinds of speakers from 4 different kinds of speaker boxers and built my own box, and hooked them all together, so there is a total of 2 boxes of misc. speakers, but i also have 2 technics speakers which are from the factory i have done nothing to them to modify them. heres the problem, ive hooked all 4 of these up to my stereo, and when i turn it up all the way, the music im playing suddenly gets scrambled and staticky. i was told to hook up some resistors in the wiring on the ones i built, but it could also be my stereo cant supply enough power to my speakers. so i guess my question is how do i stop the scrambling and the static?

  1. 1) There is a thing called impedance. Impedance is the total resistance of all combined loads or in your case speakers. Most consumer amplifiers do want want to see a load less the 6 Ohms. In order to properly wire your speakers, you would have to build a series- parallel network. You will need to learn some basic electronics for that. If not, your amp will be pushed beyond it's limits and it will distort and ultimately blow.

    2) Speakers will interact will each other when mounted closely or in the same enclosure. Unless designed by a pro, you should leave the cabinet creation to the manufactures.

    3) If your goal is to get as loud as you can, my advice would be to spend some money on good gear. If you follow the path your on, you will be spending your money on replacing amps and speakers.Check into PA type speakers like Peavey or JBL. Look into amps like Crown and EV or Peavey. Usually the more you spend the better you will come out.
