How do i hook up my LG lcd tv(HD) to my 4 year old home cinema for surround sound when watching tv?

home cinema has video-1 and 2 RCA jacks if that helps.

  1. It depends on what outputs are on your TV.

    Assuming the RCA jacks on the home cinema are red/white stereo inputs you can connect a stereo RCA cable from the same format TV audio output jacks. This won't give you true surround, but you can get matrix surround if your home theatre receiver has ProLogic. Note that many TV programs are not in surround sound anyway.

    If the RCA jack on the HT is orange it is probably a digital coax input and that allows a true surround sound connection assuming your TV has a digital coax output (some do, some don't). You can use a normal analog RCA to RCA patch cord temporarily, but you should get a proper 75 ohm coaxial RCA to RCA cable for permanent use.


  2. the LG will have two x output rca jacks-simply connect these with the surround amp using the appropriate leads.
