How do i hook up my camera to my computer?

Your camera should have come with a USB cable and some software, as well as a manual to tell you how to connect the camera to a computer. If you don't have them, you can download the software and manuals from Canon if you need them: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contro...

and your local computer shop might be able to supply you with the appropriate cable.

Alternatively, you can download pictures by taking out the SD card and putting it in a card reader attached to your computer (some computers have them built-in).

When you say "hook up" do you mean so you can use your computer remotely to take photos or do you mean so you can copy your images to your hard drive?

Most of us use card readers and keep the camera out of the loop.  Having your batteries fail in the middle of a download can cause major problems ... even corrupt the remaining images on the cameras memory card.
