How do i hook up my dvd recorder to my dvr?

I believe I have all the cables in right, but when I hit the video source button, nothing comes up. It's just black. I want to record some of the movies I have taped off the tv using my dvd recorder. I use to do it but I got their updated dvr. I am desperate! Please help!

I'm not sure if this will help you, I don't know what kind of DVR you have. I have Dish Networks 622 DVR with two tuners, one to run my HDTV and the other runs the TV in the bedroom.

Okay, what I had to do was use the 2nd tv outputs on the DVR to connect to my DVD recorder inputs, then I use the tv in the bedroom to play what I'm going to record. It's kind of a hassle because I have to go back and forth between the bedroom and living room to record. But it's the only way I could hook it up to record the shows onto DVD.
