How do i hook up my microphone to my computer?

I bought a microphone from my neighbor at a yard sale (it works fine i tested it with a stereo) it is a head phone sort (it has one headphone and the other is the thing that clings above your ear) and it has a microphone that comes out and has the scrunchy thing on the end

and i was trying to hook it up to my computer, but the plug is too small for the jack on the back of my tower!!

idk if i should go to radioshack and buy a adapter or what...

please help me!

Yeah, you need an adapter. But I think it'll be easier to find a new microphone!

But how did it work on the stereo? Doesn't it have a standard jack?
