revision... I have had 2 people reply one says you can plug the regular cables in and the hdmi at once. Use the hdmi for video and the regular cables for sound in your home theater. And the other guy said i had to get a whole new surround if i didn't have digital out.

I have a home theater system but it doesn't have Hdmi. I want to hook up my ps3 with hdmi but use my old surround system that only has the old yellow, red and white plug ins. Can i just hook up the cords ps3 give you in the box to the back of the surround system and have the hdmi plugged in at the same time? If so how do i get audio?. Could someone please help me.

  1. Only option if you want to use hdmi is to run the hdmi to the tv.  Then your tv should have an audio out (red/white) you can run to your stereo. If you dont wont to hear it out of your TV then turn off the TV's speakers
