Um..What do you exactly mean by house break?

after he eats wait like 5-10 min. and either put him outside or put him on an area for him to go

It can be easy or frustrating.  I have found that you must allow the dog to go outdoors on a regular basis.  They say that if a puppy is 2 months old, it can hold its urine for 2 hours.  Up to 12 months old, they tend to be more reliable without any accidents.  

I have found that scolding the puppy does not work.  Praise your puppy every time, whether she/he went or not (this allows her to realize that going outdoors is right).  When you let her out, tell her that she's going outdoors to go potty.  Do this often during the day.  Also, about 20-30 after they have eaten or right away when they wake up.

If you praise you animal, they'll know you love them.  They'll come around sooner that what you think.

Observation & quick reactions:

If you observe your puppy you will usually be able to see it get ready to do it's business. When you do see it start to squat quickly grab it & put it outside, once it does what it needs to do give it lots of praise and hugs just to let it know that it's a good thing to go outside. Eventually the puppy will get the idea & start asking to go outside saving you and your carpet from some really nasty suprises!
