How do i improve my running endurance?

Im joining USAF and I wanted to train my self with running 1.5 miles under 8mins and 55secs.. ryt now I cant do better than 15 mins... my legs easily get tired and I can't control my breathing it makes me more tired.. any tips on improving endurance and performance?

  3. 15 min isnt too bad for 1.5 m iles

    wat u need is motivation....run every morning around the block and don't stop

    just keep saying 'just a lil more' either keep a steadt pace through out or do fartleks - thats wen u hav 15sec jog then 15sec sprint, then 30sec jog then 30 sec sprint, then 1 min then 2 min then u go back down.....most importantly just don't give up.... reward urself after u run with a healthy snack or think about getting home and crawling back into bed ....go to www.mapmyrun.com  - u can type in ur address, and draw a route around ur block to where ur going 2 run and u get 2 know how much ur running and stuff its relly good
