How do i increase HORSEPOWER!!?

Question

i have a 1992 dodge spirit with the three liter V6. im 18 on a mcdonalds budget but i want to increase the current 150HP to about 180Hp. the i dont have thousands to spend i have like 400 dollars. help me please..i wanna be able to blow my parents 91 lincoln mark 7 away..i already have better acceleration..i think...what can i do?

GET short air intakes and header pipes.  It will NOT increase the HP by 30 HP but you will get a noticeable gain in acceleration.

I have a 94 Civic and I have both (short air intake and header pipes).  When I drive around town it is stock sounding.  But when I stomp on the throttle - this little mouse ROARS !

400 wont get you much. you can try an electric fan if it doesnt already have one. thatd be about 100-150. also a new intake is good but those can be spendy. just go onto a dodge forum and find some info on this.

some exhaust systems for about that price or even a little less will make your car sound better and perform better! look up which ones have the most hp gain by their dyno charts. i think they're classed as a bolt on performance part, and they increase hp by letting the engine breathe better, and reducing back pressure. watch out though, because some cars rely on a certain amount of backpressure to get the most torque they can get, so check about your specific car first before making any purchases.

buy more bang for your buck like a sportsbike that will out run every car on the street for only $15k.

Look into a small nitrous kit.  Just be CAREFUL with it.  Dont kill your car man.

lol i hate to break it 2 you but i would jsut save up my money and get a motorcycle my motorcycle costed 7600$brand new and it can and does beet all but the fastest car. my g/f got a brand new bike and hers' was only 5700$ including taxes
