Well basically i have this dunlop aerogel 200 racquet that ive been using for almost 6 months. The other day it started making this squeaky noise on the handle so i took off all the grips to check on the wooden handle and realized that there's a small crack from the handle to the buttcap plus a circular dent on the handle part. i took off the staples and removed the buttcap to discover another crack on the bottom of the handle. I've talked this tennis store and they said they'll send the racquet back for 8 dollars but its not guranteed that ill get a new racquet back. Should i send the racquet back in the current state or shoudl i get a new buttcap and restaple it the way it was then send it back? ( the buttcap is kinda broken now bc the staples were pretty hard to remove )

  1. are you trying to send it back claiming that you've never used it? If yes, playing for 6 months with it, you must have tons of scratches on the bumper, etc. Did you consider that?

  2. Usually manufacturers don't replace cracks on the racquet head because it's most likely due to racquet abuse (hard to prove otherwise).

Cracks in the racquet handle on the other hand are more rare and you have a higher chance of getting an exchange.  Good luck!

  3. I would redo it so it looks like you haven't touched it otherwise you may not get anything back. The dunlop rackets seem to have handle trouble quite a lot. My friends dunlop handle completely snapped in a match once. Good luck with it.
