How do i influence my mother to let me buy a Playstation 3?

In the past, my mother has ALWAYS been watching my grades. She tells me all the time to stop playing video games, and use my time to concentrate on school work rather than games.

However, about a month or so ago. I decided to save the money for a Playstation 3. And of course, my mother did not like the idea because all she thought it would do was attract me further into the virtual world. However lately, i sold my xbox, and my world of warcraft games, and every single video game i could afford summer work to save money for this Playstation 3. And when i finally have enough money, she won't let me buy it...

I've told her over and over that i realize what ive done in the past, and to promise myself to always always always put schoolwork in front of homework.. and i do that. Also, ever since ive started school, ive been making good marks. (A's).

This summer i watched my brother, (no video games whatsoever for 6 weeks) and also did my summer assignment. (read a huge book essays).

I've told her, and ive showed her. And im also using my very own money to purchase this gaming device, and she STILL doesn't believe me?

WHY????

Someone please help.

Well depending on how old you are means the more control she has over your life.  I think the main reason why she doesn't want you to buy a PS3 is because of the $400 price tag which she probably feels could be put to better use.  An idea you could try is try setting up a deal where you say complete your chores, bring home a certain amount of A's, and stay out of trouble means you can get one.

I also have a Ps3 but it wasn't so hard to get mine. Now the games...those are almost $70 each!

     First of all, tell your mom that you will play when your homework is finished and that you will buy all the games yourself. Also tell her about all the media it can support like pictures, songs, videos, and internet.

P.S. Once you have it she pretty much has to let you play it but don't go overboard. And you don't have to buy all the games yourself. She could give you 1 for your birthday, 1 for Christmas and so on.

just go out and buy it and if you need a ride ask one of your friends you dont need a parent to buy a system
