  1. Merry Meet James,

I suggest that you either get a Scott Cunningham book or check out Witchvox.com. Both has rituals and explanations of Dedications and/or Initiations.

    Blessed Be

  2. Do some real research first. Talk to people in a new age store, they may know if there are any covens in the area.

  3. http://www.spellsandmagic.com

I used to dabble in Paganism myself (real name of Magic) oh and Pagan means witch and is very different from Satanism.

  4. enroll in hogwarts

    duh

  5. You don't need to be initiated to practice Witchcraft.

Usually you would need to be initiated into a coven if you were joining one; and if you ever left that one and tried to join another, you'd have to be initiated into that one.

Covens & Witches are autonomous-- there is no single governing body of Witches that decides who is or who is not a Witch. So unless you are joining a specific group, initiation isn't necessary.

  6. You don't initiate, you dedicate. Initiations are for covens, dedications are for solitaries.

  7. You don't.  Initiation is something that is done by others TO you.  You may dedicate yourself though.  Check out self dedication rituals on google.  Keep in mind, that dedications/initiations are usually a ritual done by Wicca which is a religion.  Witchcraft is a practice.

  8. Walk into any good New Age store,  talk to the regular crowd.  Ignore the ones that want to date you and then you will find out.

  9. Go to the local bookstore and find the metaphysical section.  Find the latest pop witchcraft books published by Llewellyn and follow their instructions.  Alternatively, find a local traditional witchcraft group and go through their initiation process where you can copy what they've copied from earlier Llewellyn publications and are now calling their mysteries.

For those of you who seem to be having difficulty with the definition of initiation, here you go:

    in·i·ti·a·tion  (-nsh-shn)

    n.

    1.

    a. The act or an instance of initiating.

    b. The process of being initiated.

    c. The condition of being initiated.

    2. A ceremony, ritual, test, or period of instruction with which a new member is admitted to an organization or office or to knowledge.

    3. The condition of being knowledgeable.

    Thesaurus: initiation

    noun

       1. The act or process of bringing or being brought into existence: beginning, commencement, inauguration, inception, incipience, incipiency, launch, leadoff, opening, origination, start. Informal kickoff. See start/end.

       2. The act or process of formally admitting a person to membership or office: inaugural, inauguration, induction, installation, instatement, investiture. See accept/reject.

    Antonyms: initiation

    n

    Definition: start, introduction

Antonyms: close, completion, conclusion, end, ending, finish, termination

  10. It's kinda hard to "initiate yourself" into anything, unless you somehow can be in two places at once. Initiation implies the receipt of an honor or rank among others. How could you initiate yourself with no "others" to bestow an honor or rank on you?

Now, if you want to learn about witchcraft, there are plenty of fine sites on the web. Please just don't be drawn in by the really bad ones (*cough*SilverRavenwolf*cough*), and be very careful when using anything with fire or a blade. Just use common sense.
