How do i insert an image into a text?

how do u know the URL for a picture that is from your own computer if you wanna upload it and insert it into a text?

i tried entering:

- C:\ <according to the location of the picture> but it didnt work...

- the picture's name... also, didnt work....\

so what and how the heck do you insert it to the text?
