How do i install a dash mount cd player in my 2000 Ford Taurus with Climate Control??

I have a 2000 Taurus SEL with climate control system, which they do not make a kit for. I am not willing to switch to a manual system, so no kit will work.

I found the radio in the trunk, but the cables do not fit.

I would also like the cd player to be mounted either somewhere else on the dash (like in a storage compartment); in my glove box; or in the console.

So i need help figuring out what cables i need to hook my cd player up to my car and how to mount it.

THANKS!!

  1. Well easiest place to try to put would be either in the center console (problems may occur with depth although factory cd changers fit and cd player may not like being straight up and down.) or glovebox( again with depth but might still easier than center console.) The part you need that includes a bundle of wires for your speaker outputs from you radio and for the antenna is Metra brand Met 70-5715.  It will have enough wire to run from back to front and includes all your wire for speakers and an antenna extension to plug into your aftermarket radio.  If you are really adventurous you may try to fit it in storage area underneath where you cigarette lighter is but it will take a good deal of customizing i am sure.  You can do what most people end up doing and buy a cd changer that works through FM to make things easier/cost effective but where's the fun in that???
