How do i install an LAN driver on to my newly reformatted computer.?

Right click My Computer>Properties>hardware>Device manager>Network adapter.

Did you see any "?" question mark under network adapter? it should say, unknown device.

One more, is your LAN onboard?(meaning LAN adapter attached in the motherboard). If yes, you need the motherboard driver.I know you have it. If you really don't have, get the motherboard model and search it on the net for the drivers.

go to the website of your computer brand and search for your computer.  They should have all the appropriate drivers for your hardware and os.

It depends on the company, but they should have a driver cd that came with the computer. If you don't have it, then write down your Computer number, dell calls it service tag, not sure about anyone else. Get/Barrow a usb thumb drive.  go to you local library or internet cafe  and put in the Computer Number. you then save all  Drivers to the thumb drive and then take them to your computer. most drivers have installers double click. click yes several times, then  reboot. Wash, rinse repeat.
