  1. there sure is, "Ardex K15" is what id use for that job, its a great easy to use product.

Its a fast drying self levelling smoothing compound.

if ardex isint available where you are, im sure theres an equivilant.

get a heavy floor scraper and remove as much glue and c**p from the ceramic tiles as you can.

if theres lots of glue residue down you may need to grind the surface to get to a nice contaminant free subfloor, becuase if you dont the K15 wont stick to your existing concrete subfloor and will crack and pop off the floor causing all kinds of problems.

priming the floor before installing the K15 is always a good idea, but read the instructions on your levelling compound will tell you if this is needed in your application.

get some soccer boots for walking in the K15 when installing (the studs on the bottom keep most of your foot off the ground) and a trowell.

you just need to push the mix around a bit to cover everywhere and it will levell itself out.

If you happen to have your skirting boards off, leave them up off the ground a little to make installing the vinyl alot easier.

    good luck !

  2. Yes. There are self leveling compounds available in the concrete area of Home Depot, etc. If you have small chips, etc, and/or the floor is slightly out of level, this is a good option. If pieces are still sticking up, get a floor scaper and knock them off.

Another good option would be to install a subfloor of something like 1/4" luan plywood. This will even out the rough spots and provide some cushioning under the linoleum.
