Everytime I get new clothes I have to eventually wash them. My black clothes always fade out on me. Is there any way to stop this?

  1. I've worn all black since I was 13. Wash your clothes inside out. Hang dry. Give 'em a good shake before you hang and that will get most of the wrinkles out. They'll last decades.

  2. trust me use woolite for darks it works

  3. Don't put them in the dryer.  I stopped drying my clothes in the dryer several years ago.  After washing them, I do put them in for about 10 to 15 minutes to air fluff out some of the wrinkles (no heat).  Then I put them on hangers to dry.  We have much less fading by not using a heated dryer.  One other thing to try is wash you clothing inside out.  I hear that also helps, but I don't take the time for this step.

  4. The FIRST time you wash them put vinigar in the washing machine and it will set the color. Hang dry but not in the sun

  5. Let me know when you find out.

  6. as you do with jeans, wash and line dry them inside out!!

  7. Im not sure where you live but in Australia you can buy some special detergent that you only use with black fabrics and the colour does not fade. You can buy it in the supermarket. You could also try not hanging out your clothes in the sun or if you do hang them inside out

  8. Here in the UK you can by special detergents for darks.  I don't bother with it any more - I just use a liquid detergent for coloureds and wash on 30 deg C wash.  Always turn clothing (whether coloured, dark or white) inside out.  Dry inside out as well, avoid the sun fading.
