  1. You need to walk the dog and play with the dog alot to tire it out.  You can buy anti bark collars but I haven't tried them yet.  I'm having the same problem but if my dog gets lots of attention and exercise she doesn't bark.

  2. Tell it "NO" then squirt it with water from a squirt bottle

  3. Barking results from boredom, fear, or frustration. Barking allows a dog to communicate many different messages in a variety of situations.

Try to check the needs of your dog...

  4. There are collars that make a BEEP BEEP noise when the dog barks to distract them from barking. Maybe that may work? GOOD LUCK!

  5. SHOCK COLLAR...

cruel? yeah maybe, but he would learn not to bark...I've seen it work on my neighbor's dog.

besides, cops are going to start giving you summons.

    Good luck!

  6. Your dog will be barking for a reason, ie boredom, separation etc you don't say but I am assuming your dog is left alone for prolonged periods of time and its barking has become irritating and a noise nuisances with neighbours.

What advice have the police given you (they must be fed up getting called out to a barking dog when there a real criminals out there)

Is the dog indoors or outdoors? Is there any way you could have someone come in while you are out to exercise your dog for you and relieve its boredom?

If your dog is well exercised and is simply barking when you leave it out in the garden unattended then the simple solution all round is you don't leave it out in the garden alone once it has relived itself.

If you are unable to fulfill all your dogs needs then you may have to consider re-homing him with a friend or family member before the desion is taken out of your hands by the autorities.

But that decision is hopefully a long way down the road and you can take positive steps to improve your dogs environment and alleviate his boredom/territorailism. Be honest with yourself pinpoint the trigger and cause of his barking and resolve the issue you and your dog (and your annoyed neighbours) will all be much happier
