ok, i have really thick hair and at the moment it's about shoulder-blade length. every time i get out of the shower i have to brush it while it's still wet or it'll look awful for a week, there's not really a way around it. and it keeps breaking! i can't use gentler brushes because it's too thick and any tougher brushes break it even worse! help!!!!!

  1. It's really not good to brush it when it's wet because it's weakest when it's wet. Protein is good to make the hair stronger, but too much will make it hard and brittle. Moisture is important for the hair's elasticity and flexibility. You should probably do a deep conditioning treatment. A good detangling brush, if you feel that you have to brush your hair, is the Denman brush that you can get at Sally's for about 8 bucks. Just try to comb/brush it out gently and slowly.

  2. use a deep conditioner so that your hair won't tangle in the first place.  Then you won't have to comb as hard, hence not damaging /breaking your hair~

  3. Use Redken shampoo. If you want something more normal, go with Dove shampoo.

  4. If you ever go to Sally's Beauty Supply, or live near one, I would suggest going into the store and looking for a protein pack or placenta pack to restore the proper vitamins your hair needs to stay strong. Also, spray/leave in conditioner helps to keep your hair healthy. If you use any sort of heat on your hair, that may be contributing to the problem, so i would suggest buying a heat protectant spray. My personal favorite heat protectant is from S factor. I hope i helped..

  5. Get a leave in conditioner or spray condition to put on first.. then use a pick and pick out the knots starting at the bottom and working your way up.  You are not supposed to brush your hair when it's wet because it will break ..
