  1. buy a fan and put it in front on the bunny

  2. our apartment is hot, even though we have air conditioning, so we spoke to someone at home depot, and apparently our window unit is 5,200 btu's but out main living area needs more like 10,000 btu's (it's maybe 250 sq. ft.) so you can start by comparing whatever cooling methods you are using with what's recommended based on the size of your living areas....

also, the higher the 'EER' number is on a product the more efficient & less costly it is to run

you can also check for stick-on vinyl window tinting to help keep out direct sunlight

if you're using an air conditioner, it helps to seal off the room it's in as much as possible in order to be effective

if you don't have an air conditioner you can rig a semi-homemade one w/a fan & an aquarium pump---not really the same thing, but cheap---directions on google or youtube......

  3. open the refrigerator... nah just go and open the windows

  4. You need to go out and get one of those window air conditioners they are cheap to use and really cool a room down. My dad has the same problem so he went out and bought two one for my room and one for his. Oh and they are alot more sturdy in your window than you think.

  5. live in nebraska

  6. Invest in a high powered fan.  In the long run, it'll be cheaper than constantly running the air conditioner.

  7. search: earth tubes, passive cooling

  8. uhhhh air conditioning!!!!

  9. i had a friend that put aluminum foil over her windows. lol. she says it helps. idk if that's true or not.

  10. in each door way of your home  put sheets up with either tacks or install window drape rods and use long and wide draps this is a very inexpensive way and if you can move your pet rabbit into the basement if you have a basement that would be good.

  11. air circulation is key, ceiling fans are absolutely wonderful, other ocilatory fans are also nice.... you can also use shades

  12. 1. plant a shade tree (longer term shade from the sun)

    2. replace all ceiling light bulbs with CFL types; 'traditional' light bulbs get really, really hot when they are on adding to the excess heat build-up

    3. install a ceiling fan to bring the cool air from the basement upstairs

    4. install solar shades on the outside, yes the outside, of the east, south and west facing windows which block most of the sun's UV rays causing the excessive heat buildup. The ones we installed immediately reduced the reading on our temperature guage by 15 degrees F. The ones we bought over the internet cost less than $3 per square foot and were very easy to install

    5. ensure all windows are open (with the A/C turned off) in the evening / night to help let the heat escape and cooler outside air enter the house.

    6. use the outside BBQ to cook meals rather than the stove or oven inside the house

    7. have cold meals such as tuna casserole which you make and then keep in the fridge until meal time

    8. ensure that the opening to the attic is adquately caulked to prevent the hot air in the attic from entering the living area of the house

    9. ensure the attic is sufficiently vented to let the hot air escape; consider installing a wind turbine vent that will self-propell with the hot air to help force the hot air in the attic escape

    10. ensure the caulking around the windows is sufficient to keep the cool air in and the hot summer air out.

    I hope that helps!
