  1. Why do you want to keep the lower half silent in your golf swing ? Are you swinging totally with your arms ? How are you generating power for distance ? Somewhere there is a misconception as to the purpose of the swing. It would be helpful to take a couple of lessons from one of the better teaching pros in your area. You will learn the basics and will enjoy the game more when you hit that long ball.

  2. Joe--most likely all the problems you are having are a result of the same swing problem.  Googie is right you do not want to keep your lower body quiet but have it lead the upper body thru the swing.  If it is quiet then your power is generated by the arms and you will be tempted to overswing with the arms and shoulders.  You are most likely overswinging which causes the shoulders to turn too quickly and steeply resulting in the contact problems you are having.  The best advice is to go to a pro and get some help, it is relatively inexpensive and would do the most good.  Otherwise try this.  A shorter backswing will help you make better contact.  Try keeping your back to the target a little longer at the start of the downswing. Do you take big divots?  Try sweeping the ball a little more.  I think this will help for your other questions also.

  3. Don't move it.

  4. I had that problem once before I am learning through a free informational guide at this link:  bettergolf.pminvestorsrealestate.com

  5. well lessons is the best answer.

but for a quicker fix the dropping your right foot as far back as you can and can make a swing.

what it does is makes you swing more with your shoulders and you hips cant really move at all because their "locked up"

sooo put your laft foot where is normaly goes and put your right foot behind it, like a super closed stance.

after that just think about turing your shoulders and not turning your hips as much, create coil

  6. If you roll up a towel and stand on it, it will force you to keep your lower body as quiet as possible in order to keep in balance and stay from falling off of the towel. I do this with wedge swings to help keep my upper and lower body in sync, and to have "dead hands" as it is referred to as to help control spin.
