  1. Once I had a parakeet that bit me and would not let my hand get near him.

First I took him out of the cage and held him against my chest keeping my cuticles away from his beak.  He tried to bite me and as I held him longer his fight was less and less. Also, I would take him into the dark bathroom with just a little light from a candle or flashlight because he could not see that good in the dark/dim bathroom. He did not fly or run when I out him on my finger and soon he realized my finger was not all that bad.... I practiced a little bit every day and in a few days he was stepping on my finger any time I offered it to him.

  2. I have two parakeets. The male one bites. What i do is to say firmly while looking into his eyes saying a firm "no". He would then stop and look at me.

  4. Some birds are just biters but a little flick to the backside lets them know it hurts you when they bite you.  Use a leather glove until they get over this.  It helps a lot!
