  1. OxyClean is AWESOME!

It keeps your brights very bright and is safe to use on a regular basis.  As for the vinegar, As mentioned, it is an acid, so be careful with it!  Try adding it in the rinse cycle when the washer is full of the final rinse water, just before it aggitates (like when you would add softner).  The big thing to stop fading will be to follow the instructions on the tag, and every-so-often, take special items to a dry cleaner for some professional cleaning.

  2. Use cold water. Wash lights, darks, and whites separately.

  3. I keep stuff from bleeding by making a bath of cold water and vinegar (half a cup of vinegar for every two liters of water used) and soaking it in it. you can also use two cups of vinegar for a small cycle in the washer. the trick is that you HAVE to let it soak for AT LEAST and hour, over night is preferable, and it HAS to be cold water.  no longer than over night though, as it's an acid and can eat the clothing. so like, don't forget it XD oh, and in my experience you only have to do this the first few washes, not every time or anything. To keep clothes their colour for a long time, so to prevent fading more than bleeding, the only suggestion I have is to always use cold water, and there is new colour safe detergents coming out now, from like tide I think? ZERO also works pretty well.

  4. yes put the vinegar in with the wash or instead of washing powder.  also hang your clothes inside out odf the sun light

  5. wash you clothes inside out and it cold water.

  6. Use cold water and less detergent.  It's a water waster but if you set the load level bigger than the actual load it will be easier on  the colors with less soap.

  7. sort your clothes

play it safe and use cold water and color-safe detergents

Vinegar can be used as a dye fixative but there are better dye fixatives on the market.  If you want to bring out the big guns, try Dharma Trading... they have a number of fixatives one being Dharma Dye Fixative http://www.dharmatrading.com/html/eng/15... .  This product requires HOT water so read the instructions.  It works.
