Question:

How do i keep this fish?

its a hillstream loach

also known as

borneo sucker

butterfly pleco

hongkong pleco

they are sold as tropical fish so are they ok in a community tank

  1. Haha i basically explained all of that in the previous question you asked about hillstreams, look for my answer to that. Oh, and let me add something: they also do better with waters where the dH is less than 5-7. They also like slightly acidic water, although it doesn't really matter. Also, depending on the species, it may like to graze at the bottom of the tank, in which case it would be beneficial to have sand intead of gravel, although again it doesn't matter much. Also, they often like zucchini, and depending on the variety daphnia and tubifex worms. Good Luck!

  2. They're no different than any other fish, just keep them in a 5+ gallon tank and keep ammonia and nitrite at 0 and nitrate at less than 20 ppm.

    They prefer coldwater fish, since they're hillstream fish, but they'll do ok in a tropical community tank.

  4. why are you asking this so many times? why do you ask so many questions?  you have to do research to even know about these fish so it is amazing you don't know the answer...Are you sure you don't know the answer?

    they are fine in a community tank as the previous responder indicated.

  5. they go really well in a community tank. i have mine in with my guppies. they are a great little fish to have.
