  1. I think you have some trust issues.

Firstly get your own laptop, keep it somewhere secure and tell your boyfriend you want and deserve your privacy - he has no right to check up on what you do or what pages you visit.

If that does'nt work, get a new boyfriend.

  2. Remember to clear your internet history, and regularly delete cookies and temp internet files.

  3. Go to www.webroot.com and download the programme called window washer. It's ace.

  4. Best Internet security suite.

BitDefender Internet Security 2008 is the best integrated security program (which includes antivirus protection, a firewall, spam filtering, spyware protection and more), according to the most reviews. The suite has always had a fine reputation for preventing malware, but the previous version was one of the worst offenders at slowing computers, and user control was awkward. Reviews say the program is considerably improved in those regards. Early user reviews are more favorable than those for most competitors. A similar product, BitDefender Total Security 2008 (*est. $60) includes all the components of the base program, with the addition of maintenance and backup software.

    Most popular Internet security suite.

More than half of the security programs sold carry the Norton name. Norton Internet Security 2008 benefits from brand comfort and rebate promotions, and the most credible reviewers say the new version is the best in its class as well. Norton is ranked among the best in preventing viruses and spyware in all tests. The major issue with Norton is that it will not work properly on many computers. While this problem plagues all security suites to some extent, user reviews report more trouble with Norton than others. Slowing is not as much a problem as it used to be.

    Budget Internet security suite.

According to reviews, the main strengths of Panda Internet Security 2008 are antivirus and firewall protection. However, opinions of its spam filtering, anti-spyware and parental-control components are only fair. Still, many users may not need those features. In that case, Panda is a good value, and like its Norton and BitDefender competitors, the license covers three computers. It is also just as effective as its competitors at preventing the major types of malware. Spam filtering is the big weak point in reviews, but if you already have a good spam filter, you may not need more than Panda Internet Security.

  5. Clear history, remove cookies and web addresses etc etc.

Dont forget though, your ISP will ALWAYS know what you do.

  6. First, clean up (delete) your cookies, temp files and temporary internet files. I prefer to use Ccleaner (available at www.filehippo.com) to do this, rather than the built-in DISK CLEANUP, as I feel it does a much more thorough job - for example, it will clean out the index files on your next reboot.

If you want to use Disk Cleanup, you can find it if you:

    - Double-Click on My Computer to open it up

    - RIGHT-click on your C: drive

    - Choose PROPERTIES and then click on the DISK CLEANUP button

    - When done, reboot your computer.

Delete these files daily or run Ccleaner every day right before you shut your computer down.

  7. He is probably viewing your autocomplete history. You can delete this under the Content tab of Internet Options (having first deleted browsing history and cookies, and cache files).

  8. In FireFox you should do the following :

Go to "Tools > Options > Privacy"

1 ) Change history to 0 days and untick "keep history"

2 ) Untick "remember what I enter in forms and search bar"

    3 ) Untick "remember what I've downloaded"

4 ) Change cookies "Keep until" to "when i close firefox"

5 ) Tick "alwasy clear my private data when I close firefox"

6 ) Click "settings" next to private data and tick all boxes

7 ) Go to "advanced" tab and chance offline storage to "0 MB"

That will keep firefox in a state where, when you close it, it should clear everything related to what you've been browsing. IE has similar settings but I personally recommend firefox for browsing.

If you do that and he still knows exactly where you've been, what you've been doing and when you've been doing it he's using some form of logging software that is monitoring what you do when you're using your laptop.

That sort of software is freely available on-line, easy to install and can be hard to detect but most free tools like that can be found by checking your system process list via CTRL+ALT+DEL, looking at each process in turn and looking them up on the internet to see what they are.

Chances are he is checking your Cache and your Cookies which will now be cleared when you close your browser down.

  9. Hi

You can run CCleaner. It's one of the best disk/privacy cleaners.

If you just want your browsing to be private and do not mind a bit of convenience check out Sandboxie:

    http://www.sandboxie.com/

    http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?Secur...

But remember to thoroughly read their description: it requires a change in mentality of your browsing since everything you do in your browser are gone except for files which you have to specifically allow everytime. However, Sandboxie is also an excellent program for security.
