How do i kill poison ivy/oak?

I have poison ivy in my yard.How do I kill it?I dont want to use poison or anything like that.please help!!!

I've used this method for weeds, don't know if it will work for poison ivy.  I boil water in a tea kettle (with a spout) and pour the boiling water on the weed, right at the roots.  I sometimes dig a little around the base of the plant, to make sure the boiling water gets way down deep into the root system.

Cover yourself wear gloves and cut it down and make sure you get all of the roots up.  Then bag all the excess.. Do not burn it.
